Great Need

America’s Poorest Big City

Unfortunately, the demand for our harvests is huge. We serve Philadelphia, the poorest large city in America, where nearly a quarter of the population lives in poverty. Philadelphia’s food pantries and soup kitchens feed an estimated half a million people annually. But these emergency services often lack nutritious fresh foods.

We’re here to change that.

America’s Poorest Big City

Demand is growing—and so are we.

We’ve expanded our impact by more than 10x in under a decade, and we’re working hard to scale up, beating our own records year over year. The need is great, but with your help, we can serve top-quality nourishing food to even more people every day. The more we grow, the more non-profits we can support, the more people we can feed.

Demand is growing—and so are we.

“Carversville Farm has been a remarkable blessing to the food security needs in Southeast Philadelphia, their commitment to providing organic produce and proteins to the neighborhood throughout the pandemic has been one the biggest highlights of the past three years.”

Thoai Nguyen, CEO,
Seamaac

“Carversville Farm Foundation is a critical partner in our work. The exceptional organic food they donate enables us to provide nutritious, hot meals to families who can’t make ends meet. Carversville Farm Foundation’s generosity saves Cathedral Kitchen about $250,000 per year in food costs.”

Carrie Kitchen-Santiago, Executive Director,
Cathedral Kitchen

"Our lunchtime radical hospitality is made complete through our partnership with Carversville Farm, which allows us to fully realize our aim for dignity, respect, and community at our tables centered on lovingly grown certified organic ingredients from their incredible farm."

Laure Biron, CEO,
Broad Street Ministry
